Project Description

This project coordinates with the Phase 1 Rehabilitation already underway and the Master Plan currently being prepared. Project includes removal of all lead based paint on the exterior surfaces of the Dome, outside skirt plates, structural elements and all interior cast iron surfaces of the Rotunda. Removed all mechanical systems, electrical conductors, insulators, support framing and gas piping in the Skirt. Replaced all duct work.

Providing designs, calculations, and drawings covering the replacement of existing asbestos bearing ductwork and risers exposed in the skirt space and at the First Visitors Gallery Level of the Rotunda. Provided temporary air conditioning and lighting through barriers installed in the Rotunda to protect the art work during the lead based paint abatement.
 
Prepared construction documents for the provision of normal and emergency power to the Dome and skirt areas. Investigated the use of 480 volts delta to 480/277volt wye transformer for a 277 volt lighting system. Final design providing a complete lighting control system using a 120 volts.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Provided a stand alone fire alarm control panel with amplifier and slow whoop tone generator, auxiliary dry output contacts to relay manual pull stations, smoke detection and system trouble. System includes pull stations at the entrance to the building from the skirt area, First Visitors Gallery, Second Visitors Gallery and the Tholos level. Provides speaker/strobe devices throughout the Interstitial Space and in the skirt level, early smoke detection system utilizing beam detection or air sampling system.
