Summer Consultants Begins Work at Naval Station Great Lakes
Summer Consultants is excited to begin our first project at Naval Station Great Lakes outside of Chicago, IL. Naval Station Great Lakes is the largest U.S. Navy training installation and home to its only boot camp. The project provides backup emergency power to a galley facility in order to provide continued operations to feed recruits and sailors in the event of a prolonged power outage.
The project is a task order under Summer Consultants’ multi-discipline engineering and architecture IDIQ contract with NAVFAC Mid-Atlantic to provide mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and fire protection design services in the Public Works Department (PWD) Great Lakes, IL, area of responsibility (AOR). This $15 million contract will provide planning, design, and construction services in support of repair, renovation, alteration, replacement, and new construction projects at Naval installations within the Great Lakes and other NAVFAC Mid-Atlantic AORs.
“We are thrilled to be working with Naval Station Great Lakes on this project, said Jim Hoffman, PE, LEED AP O+M, CEM, FACEC, President of Summer Consultants. “We look forward to providing great service and engineering designs to support both Naval Station Great Lakes’ and NAVFAC Mid-Atlantic’s missions under this contract.”
