The Bolling Club at Joint Base Anacostia Bolling is a banquet facility with ballrooms, commercial kitchens, meeting rooms, and offices. The existing wet and dry pipe sprinkler systems were damaged beyond reuse. Summer Consultants designed a new sprinkler system.
By efficiently sizing the piping system we reduced the size of the fire pump by half and saved the client money. We also eliminated two of the dry pipe zones, resulting in fewer zone valves and other hardware. This reduced the construction and annual maintenance costs, while increasing the system life expectancy.
The project will be constructed in four phases to maintain functionality for most of the duration. The construction schedule is coordinated with the event schedule to minimize revenue loss. Furniture and chandeliers will be stored in trailers for protection. All ceilings will be removed to run the new piping.
