David Somay
Project Designer
David Somay joins our McLean office as a project designer in the architecture studio. A recent graduate of the University of Pittsburgh, David is on the path to earning his architectural license. In the meantime, he’s eager to contribute to meaningful projects that address real-world needs and create lasting impact, all while learning from the firm’s collaborative culture.
David’s passion for architecture took root early on, sparked by childhood days spent building with Legos and observing his father work as a handyman. What began as a hands-on curiosity has grown into a commitment to thoughtful design and community-focused work.
What is a fun fact about you?
In college, I was the university’s mascot, a role that demanded high energy, improvisation, and a willingness to embrace the unexpected. Hidden behind the costume, I loved bringing spirit to games and events. It pushed me out of my comfort zone and taught me how to perform under pressure while connecting with people in unexpected ways
