Elena Mazur, EIT

Mechanical Designer

Elena always knew she wanted to work on the buildings in someway. In high school, she thought she wanted to be an architect, but realized that she enjoyed STEM subjects too much to leave them out of her future career. She Architectural Engineering, and knew it was exactly what she was looking for. It was through her first internship in the AEC industry, that she found that she really connected with mechanical design and loved seeing how much of an impact her work had on sustainability initiatives, occupant health and well-being, and other aspects within a building. Having this positive impact on others through design is a huge motivator for Elena as she continues build her career as a professional engineer.

What do you do outside of work?

Outside of work I like to spend time outside, hangout with friends, try different cuisine around DC, and read fantasy books. One fun fact about me is I absolutely love dogs. They’re so adorable and they never fail to brighten my day.
